University Of Petroleum And Energy Studies, Dehradun is popularly known as UPES Dehradun. The university was established under the UPES Act, 2003. UPES is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The university is accredited by NAAC with a Grade ‘A’. UPES has sprawling 44 acres campuses in Dehradun, namely UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli. As per NIRF 2023 rankings, UPES has ranked 79 for overall and 52 for the University.
UPES offers 20+ industry-aligned and specialized UG and PG programs through its seven schools: School of Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Design, School of Law, School of Business, School of Health Sciences and School of Modern Media. UPES B.Tech is the flagship program offered in 20 specializations. Selection to the B.Tech program is based on JEE Main or UPESEAT conducted by the university. The total fee for the program is INR 15.21 lakhs. The university’s MBA course is also quite popular. Admission to the UPES MBA program is based on CAT/XAT/MAT/UPESMET. UPES MBA Course fee is INR 14.20 lakhs. Further, UPES Dehradun also offers distance learning courses through CCE-UPES Distance Learning Education.
